Angelina, 36, has six children. She works making traditional aprons. She wishes to start her own business but has not been able to due to lack of capital. She and other neighbors in her community form a group to raise funding comprised of eleven women called Los Pinos. As such, Angelina will be able to buy a sewing machine and raw materials so that she can begin her business. What she wishes to gain from her own business is enough money to allow each of her children to study and to succeed along with her group.

Angelina cuenta con treinta y seis años de edad, tiene seis hijos. Actualmente trabaja como operaria confeccionando delantales típicos. Ella tiene el anhelo de iniciar un negocio propio el cual por falta de capital no ha podido realizarlo. En su comunidad con otras vecinas organizan un grupo para poder solicitar financiamiento el cual es integrado por once señoras y se llama LOS PINOS, y así podrá comprar una máquina de coser y materia prima, para poder empezar. Lo que espera de su negocio propio es contar con capital suficiente y darle estudio a cada uno de sus hijos y superar junto al grupo que forma.

About Asociación ASDIR

ASDIR (Asociación de Desarrollo Integral Rural - Association for the Development of Rural Communities) is a community-based organization that works to promote development in the villages and communities where it serves. It was founded in 1999 in the village of Nimasac, Totonicapán Department, by a handful of local men and women to support community projects and group loans. Today ASDIR has 5 offices across 3 departments (Totonicapán, Sololá and Suchitepéquez) serving more than 6,000 clients, most of them in rural communities.
