Mr. Ly S. is a middle-aged man living in a high wooden house located near the river. His wife sells some groceries for profit. This couple is blessed with two young children who are enrolled in the primary school. Ly S. is skillful at repairing fishing boats and currently uses his knowledge to earn an income. He is determined and hardworking at his job. Most of his customers appreciate him and believe that he is a good repairman in the village. Recently, Ly S. has been hired by people to mend their broken boats but he does not have enough essential material to carry out his repairs. Ly S. is humbly requesting a loan to buy the required articles.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
