In this Group: Fatoumata , Mamou , Bintou , Tata , Ami , Marama , Faty , Minata , Kadiatou
The nine members of the Benkadi 7 group are married women, on average 43 years old with four children. Most live in polygamous families in Nangola, one of the villages in the Dioïla Prefecture of the Koulikouro region, which belongs to the 2nd administrative region of Mali.

They collaborate with the Soro Yiriwaso MFI to better organise their activities at the start of the winter campaign. The crops they speculate on are ground nuts and millet, among others. This is their fifth campaign loan, and all previous loans were well reimbursed.

With this new loan, Faty B. intends to buy seedlings and fertiliser before prices increase, small farming equipment and pay labor costs to cultivate approximately 2.5 hectares (6 acres).

The crops are sold after harvest in Nangola and the adjoining area, and in the town of Dioïla, to both men and women customers. They hope to attain an average profit of 35,000 FCFA per campaign.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
