Sra. Precila Enriqueta A. R., 38, is from Ancash, a region or "departamento" of Peru. She has a partner and 5 children. She earns a living selling sweets and making and selling "chompas" (traditional knitted sweaters). She sells her products at home and in Chiquian's Plaza de Armas.


Precila is the founder of the "Senor de los Milagros de Chiquian" (Lord of the Miracles of Chiquian) community bank. She started out selling a few sweets from a cart. With loans from Manuela Ramos, her cart is now fully stocked. Along with the sweets business, she makes chompas by hand. With loans and earnings from her sweets business, she has managed to buy a weaving machine which she uses to make chompas, ponchos, shawls and other clothing. With her earnings, she helps her husband with the education of their children and household expenses.


With a recently-granted loan of S/.1,500 (1,500 Peruvian soles or about US$500), to be repaid in 6 months, Precila will buy stocks of candy for resale and wool to make chompas, shawls and other clothing for resale.

La señora Precila Enriqueta A. R., es del Distrito de Chiquian, Provincia de Bolognesi-Ancash, tiene 38 años de edad, conviviente, tiene 5 hijos, y se dedica a la venta de golosinas y su otra actividad es la confección y venta de chompas. Sus productos los vende es su domicilio y las golosinas en la esquina de la plaza de armas de Chiquian.


Ella es fundadora del Banco Comunal “Señor de los Milagros de Chiquian”, se inició vendiendo golosinas en una carreta con pocas golosinas. Con los préstamos de Manuela Ramos hoy su carreta está surtida. Paralelamente a esta actividad se dedica al tejido de chompas a mano, también con los prestamos y los ingresos de la venta de golosina ha logrado comprar una máquina de tejer y produce chompas, ponchitos, chalinas y otros.
Con sus ingresos apoya a su esposo, la educación de sus hijos y los gastos de su hogar


Su reciente préstamo otorgado por Manuela Ramos de S/. 1,500 nuevos soles (U$ 500 aprox.) que será pagado en 6 meses, lo invertirá en la compra de golosinas y lana de tejer para la confección de chompas, chalinas y otros.
