Michael is 60 years old and married. He is blessed with six children. He operates a retail shop together with his wife. He left his former job as an Accounts clerk in a well known cement manufacturing company in East Africa (East Africa Portland Cements) and went into business so that he could get more income to support his big family.
His business which is twelve years old has helped him to educate his six children, four of whom have finished school. Michael also does farming to supplement his income. He joined Ushindi Thiliu group in Faulu Kenya where he saves his money on a weekly basis. He has also been able to service one loan through the group because he was guaranteed by the members.
He has requested a loan of 70,000 KES to add to his stock of basins, jars and utensils. He hopes to develop his piece of land and to buy a pickup for transporting his stock in the future.
