Sra. Maria De Los Ángeles is a single mother of a young child. For the past four years she has been selling firewood and pigs, and is very happy with her business since she is the owner of her location. Maria is always focused on her work and her customers’ requests. She is a hard worker who never neglects her job and always tries to get ahead. In the future she wants to establish a business, such as a grocery store, but for now she will continue working to sell her products. The loan she is requesting will be used to buy the materials she needs.
La Señora Maria De Los Ángeles es madre soltera y tiene 1 hijo menor de edad. Desde hace 4 años se dedica a la venta de leña y cerdo, por lo que esta muy contenta con su negocio, pues ella es la propia dueña del local. Por lo que siempre está atenta con su trabajo y lo que sus clientes le soliciten nunca deja de lado los trabajos que se le presentan, pues es muy empeñosa y siempre trata de salir adelante. En un futuro le gustaría establecer un negocio como pulpería, por ahora continuará trabajando y vendiendo sus productos. El financiamiento que solicita es para la compra de materia prima necesaria.

Fundación Leon 2000 began operations in 1993 as the first microfinance institution to serve the western part of Nicaragua, a country which continues to be one of the poorest in the western hemisphere. Fundación Leon 2000 works to further the development of micro, small, and medium enterprises through credit services and management, applying the best credit industry practices and technical expertise. Additionally, Fundación Leon manages several business and financial education programs in the community, specifically for young entrepreneurs and at-risk youth. Fundación Leon 2000’s group of experienced and dedicated employees works in 7 offices in Leon, Chinandega, Chichigalpa, Somotillo, Jinotepe, El Sauce, and Nagarote and serves several thousand clients (the majority of whom are women).
