Rosa Elena
Mrs. Rosa belongs to the Mujeres del Futuro (Women of the Future) Communal Bank in the Las Orquideas (The Orchids) zone of Portoviejo City. They meet every 15 days in the home of one of the members.

Rosa, mother to 4 children, has been married more than 40 years. Her children are grown now and have their own families. The activity she pursues is selling beauty products such as Avon and Esika, which she does by visiting clients in their homes. Rosa has been doing this for 3 years and it's going well. She is very content, though it is a little difficult having to go out to sell, traveling from one location to another in buses. But she hasn't diminished her efforts to get ahead.

Rosa's husband is a full-time auto mechanic who earns little but has managed to save and they have their own home. With this new loan they will be able to make some improvements that are still lacking to their house.

Rosa's biggest dream is to be able to buy a vehicle and drive from one place to another for her sales. She is considering asking one of her children who lives in the United States to send merchandise such as brassieres in order to expand her business. She is certain that this would do well.
