Born in 1983, Moufidath A. has lived in Sèkandji, in the town of Sèmè-Podji, for thirteen years. Moufidath is married to Achime Orogbo, a shipping agent, and is the mother of one child, who is in school. Moufidath lives together with her child and husband. The couple share the various family expenses between themselves. Moufidath has very little formal schooling. About seven years ago, she began selling various sewing supplies at her house. This business provides her with an income that helps her meet her various needs. Moufidath buys her products at Dantokpa, the international market in Benin. She has already obtained one loan through ALIDÉ (one of Kiva's field partners), and repaid it properly. With the goal of raising the level of her business and better responding to the various needs of her customers, Moufidath is seeking a second loan through ALIDÉ.

Il y a près de sept ans que Moufidath s’est mise à vendre divers produits de mercerie à son domicile. Cette activité lui génère des revenus l’aidant à faire face à ses différents besoins. Moufidath achète ses produits à Dantokpa, marché international du Bénin. Moufidath a obtenu une fois déjà de crédit auprès de ALIDé, et a bien effectué le remboursement. Dans le but d’élever le niveau de son activité et de mieux répondre aux diverses exigences de sa clientèle, Moufidath sollicite auprès de ALIDé, un deuxième prêt.

Alidé is a Beninese NGO that works to reduce poverty by offering sustainable access to productive loans like this one in addition to savings, training sessions, and social work to low-income families.

Supporters of this loan should be aware that there is some risk of being repaid late. Because the Beninois Ministry of Finance has imposed restrictions on the amount of money Alidé can send to Kiva, the organization can only send monthly repayments in installments smaller than $13,000. This means that some Kiva lenders may receive their repayments late.
