Hasfa is a single mother of four children and all her children go to school. She resides in and rents a three roomed house. The family has access to electricity but do not have piped water. Hasfa also takes care of additional family members.
She owns a stall selling sugar canes in Kalerwe market and sells to all categories of people but on wholesale only. She buys these sugar canes in Kawolo in Mukono district and uses public transport to and from Kawolo for the sugar canes. Hasfa goes for sugar canes once a week.
She wants to use this loan to buy one lorry load of sugar canes. Hasfa has been in this business for 10 years. Hasfa receives an average of 20 customers a day. Her business challenges includes transportation and defaulters. She aspires to increase on her capital base and start going to Kawolo twice a week. She joined MCDT to get more capital for her sugar cane business. Her monthly expenses includes rent, food and school fees.
