Mrs. Soun M. is pictured with her husband. The couple have been married since 1962 and have six children: five sons and one daughter. Three of them married; two live outside the family home. One son is a garment factory worker, another one is a clerk; and another one assists his parents in the business. The family lives a small village along National Road Number Two about seventeen kilometers from Phnom Penh.


Soun and her husband have been selling small trees for ten years. Their son who is a garment factory does not have his own motorcycle to get work. So Soun is asking for a loan of $600 to purchase a motorcycle for her son.
