Joseph is 33 years old, married, and has six children. He has a retail shop business in Hoima in Uganda which has been operational for two years. He is the breadwinner for his family who live in a house he has managed to build through his hard work. He dreams of educating his children to university levevl and setting up a wholesale shop. He came to know about the Hofokam credit facility through a friend who encouraged him to grow his business with the easy, accessible, and cheap credit funds, and this is his third loan. The purpose of the loan funds is to buy sugar, soap, salt and 'posho' (cornmeal) for reselling.
