Brak M., 44, is married and lives with four of her children in the Takeo province. She works as a farmer, making US$3 each day, while her husband also does some farming and works as a construction worker, making about US$3 each day as well. The weather conditions have been difficult for farming in Cambodia this past year and inflation has also been out of control. These factors have created a difficult economic year for many Cambodians.

In light of these difficult times, she is asking for a loan of US$1200 to purchase more farmland on which to grow more rice. She sees this new rice field as a good economic investment and will use it to increase her income and improve her standard of living.
