Olga B. is from the village of Francfort, Bumbaran, Lanao del Sur. She is 43 years old, married and has two school-aged children. To make a living, Olga owns and operates a clothing business. Her main source of income comes from selling ready-to-wear clothing to locals. Olga has been in business for over four years and earns approximately 8,000 PHP a month.
In 2009, Olga joined HSPFI to gain access to financial services to improve her living situation and to engage in business activities. Olga has successfully repaid a previous loan of PHP from HSPFI to purchase additional inventory. Olga is requesting a new loan of 11,000 PHP to expand her business. This loan will be her third from HSPFI. She plans to use the additional revenue from the business to supplement her income.
HSPFI is one of accredited partners of Opportunity International in the Philippines. It is based in Cagayan de Oro City and is reaching out to the poor households of Northern Mindanao.
