The Hatarinas Communal Bank is located in the El Agustino area in the Lima department. It is comprised of ten members. They have been working with Edapropa-Prosperidad for one year. The members do diverse activities in production, commerce and service.

María del Carmen is the president. She is 44, married, and has three school age children. She has been selling coffee beans and providing internet service for one year. She started because she sold beauty products, and she had customers. She decided to sell coffee in the winter, and it was well received. So, she decided to continue this activity.

With the effort of her daily work, María del Carmen has bought appliances for her home. She has essentially helped with her children’s education because she wants them to become professionals.

She will use the loan for her daughter’s professional certificate.

All of our members are grateful for the support, and they are committed to making their payments according to Prosperidad’s timeline.

La alcancía comunal “Hatarinas” se encuentra ubicada en la zona de El Agustino, departamento de Lima, está conformado por 10 socios, trabajan con EDAPROSPO – prosperidad desde hace 1 año. Sus miembros realizan diversas actividades de producción, comercio y servicio.
María del Carmen quien a su vez asume el cargo de presidenta, tiene 44 años, es casada, tiene 3 hijos en edad académica, se dedica a la venta de café en granos y servicio de internet desde hace 1 año, se inicio ya que como ella vendía productos de belleza y tenia clientes decidió vender café en invierno y tuvo una buena acogida, así que decidió continuar en esta actividad, con el esfuerzo de su labor diaria María del Carmen ha comprado artefactos para su vivienda y esencialmente ha apoyado en la educación de sus hijos, ya que desea que sean profesionales. El reciente préstamo lo utilizará en el título profesional de su hija.

EDAPROSPO seeks to use micro-credit to foster productive commercial activity for the sake of economic and social development within vulnerable urban and rural sectors traditionally neglected by commercial banks. By offering innovative products such as technical education loans and microfinance groups for young people, EDAPROSPO helps disadvantaged Peruvians lift themselves out of poverty.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.
