Born in 1975 in Tori Bossito, in the Atlantique Province, A. Virginie has been living for about 15 years in Akpakpa-Dodomè, a district of Cotonou, economic capital of Bénin. Virginie is married to SEWANOU Raymond, a chauffeur. The couple are raising four children, of whom only one is their biological child. All the children are enrolled in school. The family lives together and the couple share in supporting the family.

To help her husband cover household expenses, Virginie sells bread at their home and also in front of a primary school in Cotonou. Virginie gets her supplies in the bakeries of Cotonou. Secondarily, she also sells charcoal out of her home. She has been in these businesses for 13 years. She is a long-time client of ALIDé, having received four loans, all of which have been correctly reimbursed. Wishing to increase her working capital and expand her businesses, Virginie is requesting a fifth loan from ALIDé.

Virginie est mariée à SEWANOU Raymond, un chauffeur. Le couple a quatre enfants à leur charge, dont un seulement représente leur propre enfant. Tous les enfants sont scolarisés. La famille vit ensemble et le couple se partage les différentes charges familiales. Pour assurer ses différents besoins et venir en aide à son mari en assurant avec lui les charges familiales, Virginie vend du pain à son domicile et aussi devant une école primaire à Cotonou. Virginie s'approvisionne dans les boulangeries de Cotonou. De façon secondaire, Virginie vend également du charbon de bois à son domicile. C'est depuis treize ans que Virginie mène cette activité. Virginie est une ancienne cliente de ALIDé, ayant obtenu quatre crédits qui ont été tous bien remboursés. Dans le but d'augmenter son fonds de roulement et de rehausser le niveau de son activité, pour se faire plus de revenus, Virginie sollicite auprès de ALIDé, un cinquième prêt.

Supporters of this loan should be aware that there is some risk of being repaid late. Because the Beninois Ministry of Finance has imposed restrictions on the amount of money Alidé can send to Kiva, the organization can only send monthly repayments in installments smaller than $13,000. This means that some Kiva lenders may receive their repayments late.
