Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $775 helped develop her hairdressing business.

Awa's story

Awa Lô is a married 25 year-old woman with one child. She has been a member of the Diamaguene credit association since the 20th October 2007 and has received 5 loans, all of which have been successfully repaid. She is a hairdresser by trade and this new loan would enable her to purchase new hairstyling tools and products. Her aim is to equip her salon, make it more welcoming and attractive in order to bring in more customers, and support her husband with the costs of looking after their family.
