Joyce is 42 years old and married to a teacher. She sells household goods, both in wholesale and retail. She was previously employed as a teacher before she started her business.
She mainly earns her income by knitting sweaters and scarves. She gets her orders from schools. She joined Vision Corner self help group with Faulu Kenya, in order to access capital more easily. This is because the group members guarantee each other loans. So far, she has managed to service one loan from Faulu Kenya. She has applied for another loan, worth Kes. 40,000, from Faulu Kenya. She plans to buy knitting yarn, materials and accessories for knitting sweaters and scarves. She hopes to improve her business and create employment for the youth.
