Awadiss is a 31-year old single man who lives Lebanon and has more than 10 years of experience working in the beauty industry. He has run a salon since 2007, and rents out spaces in which other people work. He specializes in hair color and highlights, and many people come to him when preparing for weddings and other important events. Most of his customers are friends and neighbors, and the main challenge he faces is raising sufficient capital for his small company. He has applied for a $1,000 loan from Kiva partner Al Majmoua, his first such request, to buy new chairs for his salon. In the future, he hopes to expand his business and acquire a larger space.
