Daisy
Daisy B., 30, is making sure that her family has enough for their daily needs. Married to Napoleon B., a factory worker, she is blessed with one child in their marriage. She makes sure that she helps her husband earn so that their family can have a better life. She has been managing her own variety store while selling electronic cellular phone load for quite some time now.

Daisy has been a regular member of Center for Community Transformation* (CCT) for more than a year now. She regularly attends their weekly fellowship meetings and pays her weekly dues consistently. Because of her good repayment performance with her previous loans, she was able to borrow six times through CCT’s Cooperative. She is consistent in paying her dues because she uses the money she borrows to expand and improve her variety store.

To ensure the success of her business, she would like to apply for a PHP 12,000 loan. This amount will be used as a source of added capital to her expanding business, buying groceries, toiletries and beverages necessary to replenish stocks in her store. A portion of the loan will also be invested into buying phone load for different networks.

She dreams that her business will continue to grow so that she can provide for her children’s education.

* All CCT community partners / clients are organized into fellowship groups that meet on a weekly basis. A fellowship group is composed of 15 to 30 community partners. The fellowship groups gather each week to study the Word of God, build social capital, and pay Micro Finance loans.

On Friday November 8, 2013, Super Typhoon Haiyan made its way through Southeast Asia, causing substantial damage to homes and businesses in areas of the Philippines. Given the state of devastation following this storm, borrowers living and working in these areas may have difficulty making repayments on their loans, thus making their Kiva loans higher risk. More information >>
