Leocadia Marcelina A. I., 38, is a native of the Paraje Bella Vista community of the Patzite neighborhood of Momostenango. She is currently engaged in the business of selling food. She mentions that she has been doing this kind of work for a long time. She and her children carry out this work, in which she has succeeded. As a result she has managed to pay for the education of her children, as well as for their food and medicines. She had the idea of creating this group of women, so that they could succeed like she did. She managed to get 10 women to join 12 years ago, and they have come to know each other. These women perform a variety of occupations, such as: selling pastries, selling spare parts, and selling grocery items. They have approached the office of Agencia ASDIR in Pologua, Momostenango, requesting a loan to expand the capital of their businesses.

I. de treinta y ocho años de edad, originaria del Paraje Bella Vista del Barrio Patzite Momostenango, actualmente ella se dedica a la venta de comida ya que mencionado trabajo lo viene realizando desde hace mucho tiempo tanto ella como sus hijos realizan este trabajo el cual ella a superado y logrado pagar la educacion, alimentacion y medicina a sus hijos, por lo tanto a ella le surgio la idea de formar un grupo de mujeres para que ellas puedan superar como ella lo a hecho el cual logro formar un grupo de diez señoras que desde hace doce años se vienen conociendo, mencionadas señoras se dedican a diferentes trabajos como: venta de pasteles, venta de refacciones, venta de consumo diario, todas ellas se acercaron a la oficina de la Agencia ASDIR Pologua Momostenango, Solicitando un Credito para ampliar el capital de sus negocios.

This is a Group Loan
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.
