Léonie A. was born on 27th January 1956 and is married to Pierre VINOUGNON. The couple has two children who are both at school. Léonie has lived with her family in the Dieffa district of the municipality of Sèmè-Podji for around ten years. The couple cover the various family expenses between them. Léonie never went to school. In order to provide for her needs, she sells "pur water" mineral water on a wholesale basis. She gets her supplies in Nigeria, a neighboring state to Bénin, and also at the SONEB (Société Nationale des Eaux du Bénin) in Bénin. Léonie has been carrying out this activity for around ten years. She is an old customer of ALIDé, having already benefited from five loans, all of which have been repaid in full. Léonie would like to increase her working capital and her stock of goods; this will allow her to satisfy customer demand more readily. It is for this reason that she is requesting another loan from ALIDé.

About Alidé

Alidé is a Beninese NGO that works to reduce poverty by offering sustainable access to productive loans like this one in addition to savings, training sessions, and social work to low-income families.

Supporters of this loan should be aware that there is some risk of being repaid late. Because the Beninois Ministry of Finance has imposed restrictions on the amount of money Alidé can send to Kiva, the organization can only send monthly repayments in installments smaller than $13,000. This means that some Kiva lenders may receive their repayments late. However, Alidé remains a healthy institution in good standing with its creditors, and Kiva would like to continue working to support its clients. For more information, please refer to Alidé's partner profile page.
