A loan of $350 helped purchase gladiolus seeds and peas.

Julia's story

Julia is 44 years old. She lives in the house she owns with her husband, Enrique, 53. They have 5 children of age who are independent, so they only live with their daughter. She has been working in agriculture since a young age, which she continues doing today side by side with her husband, growing potatoes, peas and gladiolus. The seeding and growing processes are hard for her because the crops need continuous watching, to avoid plagues that could trouble the harvesting season.
Julia knows that if she takes care of her crops, using fertilizers and insecticides, she can expect a good harvest; besides, all her years in the business have taught her all the techniques she needs to harvest without any problems.
After harvesting, she takes her products to the wholesalers in the city, with which she makes regular earnings that allow her to live comfortably with her daughter. As she is a hard working woman, she wants to expand her production for gladiolus and peas, as they have a good market price.
This is her first loan with MFP and she is very thankful to all the people who made it possible for her to get it, so she can continue working. Besides, she knows the members of her community group very well and she knows they are very responsible. Julia hopes she will be able to invest the money in the purchase for gladiolus and peas seeds to expand her production.
