Our member is Mrs. Octavia. She is 27, married and has 2 children: her son is 7 and her daughter is 5. She alternates her work at home with her retail business. Octavia has a small general store where she sells basic foodstuffs such as vegetables, fruit and all types of drinks. Our member is asking for a loan to purchase a larger variety of products.
The members alternate their activities with retail businesses. 80% work in agriculture and animal husbandry. The rest have different types of businesses, restaurants and general stores. They are asking for a loan to reinvest in their different businesses.

Arariwa fosters village banking, supports savings accounts, promotes access to education, and empowers women entrepreneurs (who make up 78% of its borrowers).
This is a Group Loan
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.
