Juana Francisca
Juana, 39, is married and has two daughters who go to school and help their parents with household chores. Her husband farms their own lands and takes care of household expenses. Juana has been a teacher for 23 years in the Nuevo León neighborhood of the city of Nueva Guinea; she is known for being very unassuming, honest, hard-working and highly thought of by her coworkers.

She is asking for her 6th loan to invest in home improvements. She wants to replace the zinc metal roof which is in poor condition; it’s urgent she does so because winter is approaching and she doesn’t want her belongings to be damaged.

She expresses her gratitude towards AFODENIC because previous loans have made it possible for her to buy home appliances and to gradually improve her home where she lives together with her family.

Her greatest wish is that her daughters can study so that they can get a job that will permit them better living conditions.

About Housing Loans

Many poor families cannot afford housing that meets their needs. When you make a housing loan on Kiva, you give people access to flexible capital to obtain or improve their homes. Better housing means better health, sanitation, and even educational outcomes for children. A house can also be much more for entrepreneurs who run businesses out of their homes. In this way, housing and small business loans on Kiva share a common purpose: to alleviate poverty and enable families to enjoy more stable lives.
