Zefer M. is a 42-year-old man who breeds livestock in the small village of Saatli city. Zefer has been breeding cows for the last 20 years. He uses the milk from the cows for his personal use and also sells the cattle for meat.
He is married and doing everything to make his wife happy as well as his two adorable daughters. Zefer applied for a loan of 1,000 AZN to purchase three calves and fodder.
Aqroinvest Credit Union was founded by a group of 32 Imishli farmers in 2001, and has grown to become one of the largest credit unions in Azerbaijan. It boasts a portfolio of nearly $5 million and is wholly owned by its more than 3,500 borrowers, as of December 2011.
