Yaser is an employee of the Palestinian National Authority. Yaser is married and has two daughters, three and two years old. His salary was the family's only source of income till his wife came up with the idea of opening a small beauty salon in one of the rooms of their house to help her husband support their family.
It's been less than a year since she started offering services to her family and the women who live in the same neighborhood of Tulkarem city where she lives, and the number of customers is noticeably increasing.
Yaser wanted to help his wife improve her salon so he took a US$ 800 loan from FATEN so she can buy the needed equipment and materials such as make-up kits and hair-coloring creams. He tells us that this will increase the number of customers she has and the income from the project which might prepare her for a salon outside the house.
