The group “Las Rosas de Mazateupa” (The Roses of Mazateupa) is made up of six members, all women. The representative, Mrs. Miguelina, sells plastic goods through catalogues. Mrs. Anita sells chicken, live or prepared by Mrs. Anabel. Mrs. Marina sells “pozol” which is a traditional drink in the Tabasco region made from corn and cocoa. Mrs. Andrea sells various brands of shoes by catalogue and Mrs. Viviana sells traditional snacks.

Mrs. Miguelina will buy more catalogues of plastic goods in addition to the orders that she currently has. She has faith that by working hard she will succeed in her goal which is to enlarge her house and have her children finish university. She would like to have a greater income and sell to more communities.

This group is very positive and does a variety of activities which has resulted in the group feeling more like a family. They believe that in this way they can better support one another and accomplish many things together.

They are very grateful to the Fundación and to KIVA for believing in the “choca” people, a term by which they are known in Tabasco.

El grupo “Las Rosas de Mazateupa” esta integrado por seis integrantes mujeres todas ellas. Las representa doña Miguelina, que se dedica a vender artículos de plástico por medio de catálogos, doña Ma. Anita, vende pollo vivo o aliñado como doña Anabel, doña Marina vende “pozol” que es una bebida tradicional tabasqueña hecha a base de maíz y cacao; Andrea, vende zapatos de varias marcas por catálogo y doña Viviana, antojitos tradicionales.

Doña Miguelina comprará más catálogos de plásticos además de los pedidos que ya tiene. Ella tiene fe en que trabajando duro logrará su meta que es ampliar su casa y que sus hijos terminen una carrera, ella quiere obtener mayores ingresos y vender en más comunidades.

Éste grupo es muy jovial y tienen variadas actividades, se debe resaltar que es un grupo familiar, ellas piensan que así se pueden apoyar más y lograr muchas cosas juntas.

Están muy agradecidas con la Fundación y con KIVA por creer en la gente “choca”, término con el que se les conoce a las personas de Tabasco.
