Alice S. is from the village of Salvacion, Kadingilan Bukidnon. She is 51 years old. Alice is married and has 1 adult child. To make a living, Alice owns & operates a sari-sari (variety) retail shop selling a variety of different products in the local community. Alice has been engaged in her business for over 6 years and earns approximately 10,000 PHP a month for these activities.
In 2009, Alice joined HSPFI to gain access to financial services to help improve her living situation and to have the ability to engage in business activities. Alice has successfully repaid a previous loan of 8,000 PHP from HSPFI. This previous loan was used to to purchase additional inventory & towards working capital. Alice is requesting a new loan of 11,000 PHP which will be used to purchase additional products to sell. This will be the 3rd loan taken out by Alice from HSPFI. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to supplement income of the family.
HSPFI is one of accredited partners of Opportunity International in the Philippines. It is based in Cagayan de Oro City and is reaching out to the poor households of Northern Mindanao.
