Celina A. S. was born in Maputo 30 years ago. She studied until 7th grade. She is now living in Namaacha, on the Mozambican border with Swaziland. She moved here because she got a job in a nearby hotel, where she has been working for the last 9 years. She works from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and has three free days every two weeks. The money she makes at the hotel is not enough to take care of her five dependents: three children, aged 6, 9 and 11, a cousin and a niece.
She is asking for a loan to finish the construction work at her home. She has had two other loans with Kiva, is familiar with the process and likes it. She plans to repay the loan with her salary from the hotel and live on her husband's salary during this period. Once she is done with the construction, she plans on requesting another loan to start breeding chickens.
