Salitral (Flat) Group
In this Group: Zita, Felix Daniel, Virginia, Daniel, Martha
This group is called SALITRAL, because that is the name of the locality where they live. The five people in the group are Zita C., Félix Daniel T., Virginia Vázquez, Daniel T. and Martha C.. They all live in the state of Veracruz.

ZITA is the representative of the group. She is single, and has a 3-year old daughter. Zita wants to dedicate herself to selling clothing from her home and to her friends. She is sure this business will generate a good income for her, because there aren’t many people selling clothes where she lives. Oftentimes, her neighbors have to travel to another locality since their town is very small.

With this loan, she would like to buy stylish and beautiful clothing with which to start her business. Her future goal is to give her daughter a better life. With her earnings, she hopes that one day her daughter can enjoy a higher standard of living and attend school.

Zita says that she is very happy in the Salitral group, because she knows she can count on her associates, whom she has known for a long time. Zita feels very fortunate that the loans from KIVA are available to help her launch an enterprise and to get her family ahead.

Additional Information

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
