Mrs. Phat Ou Village Bank Group

Twelve people, who live in Preaek Doung village in Kandal province, make up this village bank loan. Mrs. Phat O. has been selected by all the members as the the village bank president. All the individuals will use their portion of the loan for different purpose.

Mrs. Phat O. is a farmer who owns a plot of land to grow crops which she sells to support the family income. In her field, she has a problem because the soil is infertile. Therefore, in order to produce a more productive croup, Mrs. Phat O. decided to ask for a loan to buy fertilizer. She is a widow with eight children, two of whom are body guards, one is a tailor in a local village, the other is a sugar cane and soy mill seller, and the others are attending local public school.
