Rita is a 36-year-old married woman and mother of four young children. In order to help with her family’s expenses, she has established in 2007 a small headscarf and handkerchief shop in her town. Her shop targets the Islamic community in her town. Here she sells to the ladies all types, designs and quality of headscarves. She’s thankful for her business because it allows her to relieve the burden of the household expenses.
Today, Rita is requesting to borrow $1,000 to purchase more merchandise for her business, specifically to increase her selection of new collections to attract more clientele and develop liquidity in her work.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
