Mrs. Luy S. is 51 years old. She has owned a plot of farmland in Kompong Cham Province since 1980. There she grows all types of crops, which she plants twice a year. Beside her farm work, she has a few sewing machines that she and her husband use to sew the village’s clothes for extra income. Luy S. is a good mother of three children. Two of the children are single and one is married and lives away from home. Luy S. is married to Mr. Meur, 50, who assists her on the farm field. Luy S. has been planning to buy farmland in a good location near her village, but it is not possible because she does not have enough money. Therefore, Luy S. is applying for a loan to purchase a piece of land on which she will plant rice crops. Note: Luy S. was not available when the photo taken so her husband is pictured instead.
