Suranje Geethika is a 34-year-old married woman who lives with her husband. She has two sons, 10 years and 7 years old. Her husband has a three-wheeler taxi that he drives for income. As a result, he is able to assist with her business. They are very close, and work well together.
Suranje used to have a coconut business, but then started a venture making and selling bricks which she sells to local customers. Two years ago she started this business. She cooperates well with others and has a lovely mood. She is very enthusiastic.
Suranje has requested a 50,000 LKR loan from BRAC Sri Lanka to help her brick business. She is grateful to BRAC Sri Lanka because of the great support it provides to her.
Due to Sri Lanka’s central bank regulations, there is a chance that you may not receive repayment on this loan for up to 12 months after the repayment has been collected by the field partner. Bank regulations in Sri Lanka stipulate that US Dollars cannot leave the country for 12 months. However, Kiva’s net billing system, under normal circumstances will allow for more timely repayment.
