Agbidi Séraphine
Agbidi Séraphine H. was born 27 November 1975 in Allada, in the Department of the Atlantic. She is married and the mother of four children, all in school. For the past five years Séraphine has been living with her family in the Dogoudo borough of Allada. The couple care for two other children, and Séraphine helps her husband in handling the family’s various expenses.

Séraphine has never been to school. For about 15 years, she has sold cornmeal mush accompanied by wheat fritters in Allada, where she also gets her supplies.

She has already been granted three loans from ALIDé, all of which have been repaid in full. Now Séraphine wishes to strengthen somewhat more her business and increase customer satisfaction. This is why she is requesting a fourth loan from ALIDé.

H. Agbidi Séraphine est née le 27 Novembre 1975 à Allada, dans le département de l'Atlantique. Mariée et mère de quatre enfants, tous scolarisés, Séraphine vit depuis cinq ans avec sa famille au quartier Dogoudo à Allada. Le couple a deux autres enfants à leurs charges. Séraphine vient en aide à son mari et assure avec lui les différentes charges de la famille. Séraphine n'a jamais fréquenté l'école. Depuis 15 ans environs, Séraphine mène comme activité la vente de bouillie de maïs accompagnée de beignets de blé à Allada. C'est également à Allada que Séraphine s'approvisionne. Séraphine avait déjà obtenu de ALIDé, trois crédits qui ont tous été bien remboursés. Séraphine désire renforcer un peu plus son activité et mieux satisfaire sa clientèle. C'est ce qui l'amène à solliciter auprès de ALIDé, un quatrième prêt.

Alidé is a Beninese NGO that works to reduce poverty by offering sustainable access to productive loans like this one in addition to savings, training sessions, and social work to low-income families.

Supporters of this loan should be aware that there is some risk of being repaid late. Because the Beninois Ministry of Finance has imposed restrictions on the amount of money Alidé can send to Kiva, the organization can only send monthly repayments in installments smaller than $13,000. This means that some Kiva lenders may receive their repayments late. However, Alidé remains a healthy institution in good standing with its creditors, and Kiva would like to continue working to support its clients.
