Born in 1976, Mr. D. François has lived for six about years in Tchonvi in the town of Sèmè-Podji, Benin.  He is married and the father of three children, some of whom are in school.  He lives together with his children and wife.  François is the one who covers the bulk of family expenses.

François did not attend school.  For nearly the last twelve years, in order to meet the requirements of his family, he has been buying and selling various electronic products (light bulbs, wiring, TV sets, etc.) out of his home.  He buys his goods from Nigeria, a country neighboring Benin. 

This is the first time François is requesting a loan from ALIDé for bolstering his business and coping better with customer demand.

François vit ensemble avec ses enfants et sa femme. C'est François qui assure l'essentiel des charges de la famille. François n'a pas été à l'école. Il y a près de 12 ans, afin de répondre aux exigences de sa famille, François achète et vend divers produits électroniques (ampoules, fils électriques, postes téléviseurs, etc.) à son domicile. C'est au Nigéria, Etat voisin du Bénin, que François achète ses produits. C'est la première fois que François sollicite un crédit auprès de ALIDé, en vue de renforcer son activité et de mieux faire face à la demande de sa clientèle.

Supporters of this loan should be aware that there is some risk of being repaid late. Because the Beninois Ministry of Finance has imposed restrictions on the amount of money Alidé can send to Kiva, the organization can only send monthly repayments in installments smaller than $13,000. This means that some Kiva lenders may receive their repayments late. However, Alidé remains a healthy institution in good standing with its creditors, and Kiva would like to continue working to support its clients.
