The name of this group is “Alondras” (meaning larks, the songbirds) since when the group was formed two of the members were pregnant and the babies were going to be named “Alondra”. The group is based in the community of Barrio D. Jesús 2nd Section, San Pablo Autopan in the state of Mexico. The group has 8 members.
Araceli A. F. is the groups’ President. She is 32 years old, she obtained a traD. degree as a secretary and has no children. She tends her general store that she started 4 years ago. She is requesting the loan to invest in the store and buy groceries, spices, condiments, etc. Her customers are people from the same community; there are not many stores in the area, and her customers seek her and prefer her because they can find everything they need such as spices, condiments, dry chiles, groceries, and other products. She is very happy requesting this loan because her store will have more merchandise. She wants this loan to invest even more. With time, she also hopes to buy a car so she can transport the products herself from her providers. This picture was taken at the store of Mrs. Araceli; it can be seen how Mrs. Araceli sells an assortment of products at the store she started 4 years ago.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
