Nouhad is 42 and married with three children. With the heavy expenses of raising a family she decided, in 2000, to help her husband by running a small business as a home-based beauty-products vendor in addition to offering beauty services to her clients. Nouhad is requesting a loan of $1,200 to buy more cosmetics and hair products to increase her sales and her income. Nouhad is like the majority of the woman in Lebanon who try to help their families as best they can by having a business in their homes.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
