Alice C. is 37 years old and married to Joseph C., who is a businessman. They have three children: Chesire, (12 yrs: Class 6); Chebaskwony, (9 yrs: Class 4); and Kiprono (2 yrs). They live in Timboiywo Village.
Alice is a farmer and she has been farming since 2000. Her farm is in an area called Timboiywo where most of her customers are residents. She gets a profit of Kshs 4000 per month from this business.
Alice was introduced to KADET by her friends and she has never borrowed a loan from any other micro finance institution. She has borrowed an educational loan of Kshs 30,000, which she will use to pay for the school fees for her children.
She expects to get a bumper harvest this season and she plans to utilize the profits from this farm produce well. She dreams of having a big farm in the future, educating her children to the highest level possible. and having a stable source of income.
