“Somos Impacto: 2006” (We Impact – 2006) is a Communal Bank that consists of eleven enthusiastic and enterprising members who have an affinity for converting their informal activities into small businesses. They have been working with EDAPROSPO – Prosperidad for four years.

Margarita has taken over the office of President. She is 51 years old, in a common law marriage, and has five children (ages 14, 17, 21, 23, and 25). For the past three years, she has been knitting macramé handbags. She started this business as a result of a high school course in handicrafts that she took several years ago in which she learned how to knit. She also started making things by hand because her sewing machine broke down. Margarita is happy to be working with one of her daughters and always learns about creating new models of handbags. Through the efforts of her daily work, she is able to help her husband since his earnings do not cover everything. Margarita’s greatest wish is to have a vending post at the market where she can sell her handbags. This recent loan will be used to buy materials for knitting.

All of the members are grateful for the support that has been provided and they commit to submitting their payments according to the established timelines.
