“I don’t know how I can thank Feed The Children Uganda for what they have done for me,” says Edison T., a resident of Kiwatule in Kampala. He joined Tuwoda, a group of women and men who came together in order to get loans from FEED (now Pearl Microfinance Ltd), in 2001. He has borrowed and repaid loans ranging from USD115 to USD900 between 2001 and 2007.

He has managed to buy a banana plantation in his home area, Rukungiri, in southwestern Uganda, and a plot of land in the same area. He sells Bitenge textiles from Congo and works as a tailor. He is completing a residential house where his family will stay. He is 33 years of age and married with five children who are all in primary school. The business is doing very well; however, it can not finance the completion of the house.
