Ali is a 42-year-old single man who lives with his parents. He has been working as a farmer raising cattle for the past 12 years. He learned this occupation from his father. In 2004, he opened his own cattle farm and started producing dairy products such as milk, yoghurt, cheese and labneh, a special Lebanese food product. He delivers his products to the food market and also directly on customer request.
Today, Ali is requesting to borrow $800 USD to buy a special milk machine in order to improve his services and increase the liquidity of his business.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
