Mrs. Sambo S. is a village bank president, as selected by the ten members of this loan group. Kandaol village, in Takeo province, is where all members reside. They will use the loan to purchase supplies, equipment and other items to support themselves in different purposes. Mrs. Sambo S. is a farmer who owns 1.35-hectares of land to cultivate rice, which supports her family’s living. She is a widow with three children, one is a government worker, one is a laborer, while the third is attending a local public school. This family tries to work hard, however, they can earn little income because their field has infertile soil. In order to improve the land and support productive rice, Mrs. Sambo S. has decided to request a loan to buy fertilizers to support her farming.
