Sra. Esther is one of the founders and holds the position of President. She produces and sells bread. Esther has a family consisting of four members. With her loan she plans to buy flour, sugar, and yeast so that she can diversify her production and increase her earnings. As a result, she will be able to improve her quality of life.

Sra. Mirna is a long-time member who is married and has small children. She serves as the Secretary. With her loan she plans to buy different products for her store so that she can take advantage of the Carnival festivities to generate more sales.

Sra. Maria is the Treasurer of the Bank. Her principal business activity is managing a neighborhood store located in her home. With her loan she plans to buy canned goods, candy, and cookies in bulk so that she can increase her inventory and improve the income for herself and her family.

All of the members are responsible, dynamic, and hardworking people who support their families, and in most cases, must do so by themselves. They desire to improve the quality of life for their families and are grateful to Emprender and Kiva for trusting them by providing this loan.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
