The women of the group Benkadi are all married. On average, they are 35 years old and each have 3 children. They all live in traditional extended families in Zanfina, one of the towns in Fana, a county of Dioila, the second administrative region of Mali.

These women mostly buy and sell cereals/ grains, and food condiments. Having fully repaid their first loan, the women of the group Benkadi are requesting their second group loan, which they will use to purchase 3 tons of dried cereals (fonio (a millet-like grain), small millet, corn) and a large quantity of food condiments. They mostly supply themselves locally from farmers and then the women sell their products in the market, usually for cash, to a clientele composed of men and women.

They envision each earning an average monthly income of 15,000FCFA, which they will use to pay for the needs of their families and invest the remainder in their businesses.

Les femmes du groupe Benkadi sont toutes mariées. Elles ont en moyenne 35 ans, 3 enfants et vivent dans des familles traditionnelles élargies à Zanfina, un des villages de Fana, préfecture de Dioila, deuxième région administrative de la république du Mali.
Ces femmes font essentiellement l’achat et la vente de céréales et de condiments alimentaires.
Après avoir correctement remboursé le premier prêt, les femmes du groupe Benkadi sont à leur deuxième prêt solidaire qui sera utilisé pour acheter, 3 tonnes de céréales sèches (fonio, petit mil, maïs) et une importante quantité de condiments alimentaires.
Elles s’approvisionnent essentiellement sur place auprès des producteurs et effectuent leurs ventes au marché, généralement au comptant, à une clientèle composée de femmes et d’hommes.
Elles envisagent réaliser chacune un bénéfice moyen mensuel de 15.000FCFA qui sera utilisé pour subvenir aux besoins de la famille et investir le reste dans les activités.

Soro Yiriwaso is a microfinance institution that works primarily in rural and semi-urban areas of Mali to provide underprivileged communities with access to financial services.The organization facilitates access for disadvantaged clients, particularly women, to new resources and services, fostering solidarity and cooperation among its clients. Kiva lenders’ funds will enable Soro Yiriwaso to expand its outreach and target even more underserved Malians involved in business and agriculture.
