Mr. Sin S. is selling and buying recyclable goods (used goods) in the village to earn a living. In addition, his wife (who appears in the photo) raises a few pigs in a stall behind their house. The couple have three kids; all of them are studying in school. Sin S. needs a loan in order to pay the expenses of repairing and decorating his old house, which often needs repair.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
