Mr. Nov S. is fully able to feed his family by cultivating crops on his land next to his house. He has a partner in his wife who helps to conduct his business. They are married and have four children. All of them are going to school or work. Nov S. needs a pump to irrigate his crops, but he doesn’t have money yet to buy one. Thus he is applying for a loan with which he will buy a pump and other farming supplies for his business.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
