Sok S., age 53, is widowed and lives with her two children in Siem Reap Province, Cambodia. Since 2008 she has run a business selling crushed ice with sweet syrup in her village, earning an income of $2.5 USD per day. One of her children helps her in this business. By doing so, S. is able to cover her family expenses, especially her children’s education.
S. is requesting a loan of $500 USD to purchase a machine to crush ice to expand her current business. This is her first loan from Kiva partner, CREDIT.
KREDIT Ltd. is one of Kiva’s most established partners in Southeast Asia. The organization empowers the economically-active poor and small entrepreneurs by providing inclusive financial services.
