Mrs. Chhan N. has been a local tailor for years and also sews at home for a local factory. Additional family income is provided by her husband, who works as a building foreman. The couple has been married many years and is blessed with a child who is a student in class 8. Chhan N. is requesting a loan to order clothing in bulk from industry that she will sew into furniture for sale. This will provide her with extra income in order to ensure a good standard of living for her family.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
