A loan of $1,200 helped to help her child to open a printing shop.

Pen's story

Pen R., age 47, is married and resides with her husband in Takeo Province, Cambodia. She has three children. She is engaged in the business of selling various kinds of groceries, earning approximately US $3 per day. By doing so, she is able to cover her family expenses, especially those for her children’s education. She has been doing this business since 2006. Her husband operates a business of buying cows from local farmers to sell at the market, earning an income of US $2 per day. Their standard of living has improved since R. started this business, so she wants to have a loan to expand her business. R. is requesting a loan of US $1200 to buy more tools for one of the children to open a printing shop in the city. This is her first loan from CREDIT, a partner of Kiva. (R. is pictured with her husband.)
